First International Workshop on Free/Open Source EIS/ERP

Workshop Summary
The goal of the workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners for the purpose of discussing the ways in which the EIS/ERP area has been impacted by free/open source software and also by free/open source development methods and tools. The workshop will be held in Vienna, Austria, April 25, 2006, in conjunction with CONFENIS 2006.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
Free/Open Source EIS/ERP software.
Free/Open Source frameworks and tools for building EIS.
Case studies on Free/Open Source EIS/ERP modeling and use.
Methods for modeling and implementing Free/Open Source EIS/ERP.
Directions and trends on Free/Open Source EIS/ERP software.
Keynote Speech
Open Source ERP in Real Life: The ERP5 Project Case, Dr. Jean-Paul Smets-Solanes, CEO Nexedi SARL, France.
Dr. Smets-Solanes holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and has been providing expertise in information systems design and management to small and large corporations for more than a decade. He is the leader of ERP5 Project and Vice President of the French Speaking Association of Users of Linux and Free Software and Speaker of Eurolinux.
Submission Guidelines
Papers from both academic and industrial perspectives are expected, and must follow the CONFENIS 2006 instructions for submission and publication. The workshop will have two tracks: a Research Track for theoretical research papers, and a Practitioner Track for practitioners to share experiences and discuss application cases. Conference proceedings and selected top-ranking journals are possible publication outlets. Workshop participants must register for the CONFENIS 2006.
